Refugee Tales is an outreach project of Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group. It supports people – asylum seekers and UK residents – targetted by the government’s ‘hostile environment’. It also calls for an end to indefinite detention of migrants, imposed by the British government despite contravening the UN Human Rights convention. As well as individual and collective support, collectively it is also a walking and literature project, its third book of Refugee Tales published in 2019. I am making a series of Dialogic Portraits with detainees and their visitors.
